The South Beach Wine & Food Festival Turns 25

One of the country's biggest food festivals hit a milestone in Miami. The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary over four days in February, drawing more than 500 chefs, television personalities, and winemakers to a packed slate of tastings, dinners, and beachside parties.

Now a fixture of the winter calendar, the festival — universally known as SOBEWFF — sprawled well beyond its namesake stretch of Miami Beach, with events in Coconut Grove, the Miami Design District, Historic Overtown, and even Fort Lauderdale. Its signature moments, from the Grand Tasting Village to late-night burger bashes, once again sold out.

More than a party

Beyond the spectacle, the festival is a fundraiser: proceeds support hospitality and tourism programs at Florida International University, which has helped train a generation of the state's restaurant workforce. Organizers have long credited the event with raising Miami's profile as a global dining destination — a reputation that the city's Michelin recognition and record tourism have since reinforced.
