Inter Miami Names Kily González Head Coach After Winless Slump
The former Argentina international succeeds interim coach Guillermo Hoyos once his U.S. work permit is approved.

Inter Miami has found its next head coach. On August 27, the reigning MLS Cup holders announced an agreement with Cristian "Kily" González, a 52-year-old former Argentina international, to become first-team head coach.
González most recently managed Club Atlético Platense in the 2025 Argentine Primera División and earlier led Rosario Central and Unión Santa Fe. He succeeds interim coach Guillermo Hoyos, who took over in April after Javier Mascherano's departure, and will officially assume his duties once his work permit is approved.
A club in need of a lift
Under Hoyos, Miami lost four of its last five games after the mid-season World Cup break. The team remained second in the Eastern Conference but had slipped 10 points behind leaders Nashville.
