Epic Universe Rewrites the Rules of Orlando Theme-Park Dining

Universal's Epic Universe did not just add rides to Orlando — it raised the bar for theme-park food. The park, which opened in 2025, packed in more than 30 restaurants and food stands, with immersive theming that turns a meal into part of the show.

Highlights range from the sit-down Atlantic restaurant, one of the resort's few true fine-dining rooms, to a string of elaborately themed quick-service spots. In the How to Train Your Dragon land, Mead Hall serves a Viking-style banquet beneath timber beams and dragon carvings. Over in the horror-themed Dark Universe, Das Stakehaus leans into its vampire setting, while the Burning Blade Tavern nods to a classic monster movie. Super Nintendo World's Toadstool Cafe, meanwhile, routinely fills its mobile waitlist within minutes of opening.

A dining destination in its own right

Central to the layout is Celestial Park, the hub that holds roughly half of the park's dining. For Orlando, the effect has been to make food a bigger part of the theme-park pitch — and to pressure nearby resorts to elevate their own menus in response.
