The Miami Grand Prix Returns to Hard Rock Stadium for 2026
Formula 1's Miami round ran its fifth edition in early May, keeping the city on the global motorsport map.
Formula 1 returned to South Florida in early May for the fifth Miami Grand Prix. Held over the May 1–3 weekend on the temporary Miami International Autodrome that wraps around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, the race was one of the earliest events on the 2026 world championship calendar and again drew a star-studded, sold-out crowd.
The weekend followed F1's sprint format, packing extra competitive sessions into Friday and Saturday before Sunday's main event. Rookie sensation Kimi Antonelli took pole position and went on to win, finishing ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
More than a race
For Miami, the Grand Prix has become a spring tentpole that fills hotels and restaurants and reinforces the city's push to position itself as a global events destination alongside its Art Basel and Miami Swim Week calendar. Local tourism officials have credited the race, together with cruise and beach demand, for helping keep South Florida among the country's busiest travel markets.
