Dolphins Open Training Camp With a New Coach and a Rebuild
Miami began camp in Miami Gardens under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley, with a young roster and a very different feel from recent years.

A new era began for the Miami Dolphins this summer. The team opened its 2026 training camp at the Baptist Health Training Complex in Miami Gardens, running from late July through August under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley, who took over from Mike McDaniel.
The camp carried a starkly different feel from the previous few seasons. Much of the star power that defined recent Dolphins teams is gone, replaced by veteran journeymen and a large rookie class, as the franchise leans into a rebuild under its new staff. The team scheduled a series of open practices for fans through August, with the first public session on August 2 and a joint practice against the New York Giants later in the month.
What to watch
For a fan base accustomed to high expectations, the focus this summer shifted from chasing a deep playoff run to evaluating young talent and installing a new system. How quickly Hafley's group gels — and how the draft class develops — will shape whether Miami's reset pays off in the season ahead.
