Florida's Space Coast Shatters Its Rocket Launch Record
Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center hosted a record surge of orbital launches — and the tourism to match.
Florida's Space Coast has never been busier. The stretch of coastline anchored by Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and NASA's Kennedy Space Center hosted a record number of orbital launches in 2025 — well over 100 — as commercial cadence, led by frequent Falcon rocket flights, pushed the region past every previous annual mark.
The launch boom has become a tourism draw in its own right. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex was ranked among the very top attractions in the country in major travelers' surveys, and Brevard County's beaches, causeways, and parks now fill with spectators on launch days.
A patriotic summer ahead
Looking to 2026, the visitor complex has lined up a season of programming tied to the 250th anniversary of the United States, including a celebration of six decades of its landmark bus tour into the working spaceport. For visitors, the Space Coast increasingly offers a two-in-one trip: quiet barrier-island beaches by day and the rare thrill of a rocket launch overhead.
